Breaking down

There are some things that I just won’t write about here. Things that are just too private or too personal, things that involve other people who never signed up for having their lives put in a blog post. It makes it interesting because there are some days where I’d really like to write about those exact things I don’t write about.

I will say that I am feeling some sadness. And there is a lot I can feel and notice, but when sadness comes up, it’s a tough one. I don’t want to look at it because it’s the one that breaks me down. But I’m beginning to think I need to be broken down. That might be how things will start to move.

I read this today:
The world is full of conflicts and full of things that cannot be reconciled. But there are moments when we can reconcile and embrace the whole mess, and that’s what I mean by ‘Hallelujah.’
Leonard Cohen

Thanks for reading today’s entry in my daily blog.  My goal here is to practice noticing. I try to write about small things and I try to keep it light. Sometimes I write about creativity or healing. And sometimes I write about my dogs or what I cooked for dinner. Writing daily here is a way for me to shine a light back on my life and help me see.

  1. Seeing yourself as needing to be broken down is a perspective that I hadn’t seen before. I actually think that makes a lot of sense, as much as I’m averse to negative feelings too. Thanks for this post!
