The farm is opening tomorrow for the first time since Christmas for it’s “Easter Bunny Adventure.” I spent a long day doing last minute setup in the gift shop. I’m exhausted. I’m giving myself a break tonight.
I was going through my notes in my phone and I found this quote. I heard Brene Brown say this in a podcast years ago and it hit me hard then and always hits me hard when I rediscover it. These words are the reminder I will always need:
We can’t give people what we don’t have and we can’t ask people to do what we’re not doing.
You can’t raise a child with a greater sense of resilience than your own. You can’t raise a child with more self-compassion that what you have.
I’m not sure you can love a child more than you love yourself.
