What is life?

I am waist deep in The Durrells in Corfu. Have you seen it? I started yesterday and I’m happy/proud to say I’m almost done with the second season. The opening plays the PBS Masterpiece theme song and I get all excited. I really needed to get swept away into something like this – 1930’s, Greece.

Easter dinner at Gramma’s. She made turkey dinner because Christian loves his turkey dinner but Christian ended up in bed all day because if the after effects of his second Covid vaccine shot. He has a plate of leftovers waiting for him in the fridge.

I’m happy to say I made it through today eating just a few pieces of Easter candy. And I’m happy to say that’s likely because I’ve probably eaten the most Cadbury Mini Eggs this season ever. They were out in the stores in January. I had my first bag in February and I’ve probably bought (and eaten) about ten bags since then. Yay me!

Our Gracie has very short legs. Christian is her favorite person because he pets her the most. He leans back in his recliner and she spots him. She is able to pull her body back like a slinky and catapult her way up over the arm of the chair and into his lap. She then crawls up him so she is standing lengthwise on him, looking straight into his eyes. The weight of the two of them sometimes causes the recliner to fall backwards and hit the ground.

I snapped this photo of her today contemplating life. Or at least I like to think that’s what she’s doing. It’s likely she’s just looking for squirrels.

Thanks for reading today’s entry in my daily blog.  My goal here is to practice noticing. I try to write about small things and I try to keep it light. Sometimes I write about creativity or healing. And sometimes I write about my dogs or what I cooked for dinner. Writing daily here is a way for me to shine a light back on my life and help me see.
