I love Irish soda bread. I love it in the same way I love scones. I’m not a big on sweets but I do love a slightly dry, not so sweet baked good. No one else in my house likes Irish soda bread. So that means I buy it at the grocery store and I eat the whole damn thing. I did that this weekend. And when I woke up this morning, I felt it. So today, it was imperative that I did not eat any more Irish soda bread. Back to the veggies.

I’m on day five of no social media. And today started week four of The Artist’s Way. This week’s tool is reading deprivation. It’s funny how that lined up just right for me. So, today I am starting a week of keeping myself busy. Today I went for three walks. I worked at the farm. I paid some bills. I stared out the window. And I wrote. I locked my door, I sat in my chair and I wrote. It felt really good. I absolutely did not see how much static I was letting into my mind. Now I do. I feel full of hope.

The boys are back in school. Thank goodness.

Christian cooked country style ribs for the first time tonight. They were really good! He even made butter noodles. You know the butter noodle package mix in the green bag? those butter noodles. It was a vintage side dish for us. When we first lived together 20 plus years ago (yikes) and we thought we were all fancy, we’d make Shake and Bake chicken with butter noodles (sometimes creamy garlic noodles) and corn. We were so proud of ourselves.

My poor Gracie Lou has these weird bumps growing on her. The vet says not to worry. There is one right above her eye. It doesn’t seem to bother her at all. But she does look a bit odd. More odd than usual.
