As I made a cup of tea this morning, I wondered if I might have a problem. I took a photo so I can share with you.

I refer to this corner of my kitchen as Pam’s beverage area. I have a coffee pot, a hot water kettle, a soda stream to make carbonated water. I also have a drawer with two types of coffee, seven types of tea, matcha, electrolyte powder mixes, Emergen-C packets, lemonade and ice tea mix packets. I have Coke Zero, Newman’s Own Limeade and Polar Orange Dry soda in the fridge. I also have half and half, oat milk and regular milk for my coffee and tea. I also have honey, stevia and good ol’ regular granulated sugar.

I have Nalgene bottles, metal water bottles, large portable cups with a lid and straw, and a few different hot drink containers as well. I have disposable paper and plastic straws and reusable plastic and metal straws. I have big mugs, little mugs and tea cups with saucers. I have short glasses, tall glasses, pint glasses and mason jars. I also have plastic cups but I really don’t like drinking out of those.

I drink all of these drinks. I use all of these drinking vessels. This is kind of weird. I can’t believe I just noticed this today. WTF

Thanks for reading today’s entry in my daily blog.  My goal here is to practice noticing. I try to write about small things and I try to keep it light. Sometimes I write about creativity or healing. And sometimes I write about my dogs or what I cooked for dinner. Writing daily here is a way for me to shine a light back on my life and help me see.

  1. ‘Practise noticing’ is such a great way to describe journalling. I journal every day, and I enjoy picking out the seemingly insignificant yet unique events that mark my day, and now I have a term for it. Thanks for sharing!
