I listened to a bunch of podcasts today while I drove home. If you’re interested in creativity, I highly recommend The Moment with Brian Koppelman. I’ve been listening for some years now. He interviews all different types of creators and pulls out so much valuable insight. Today I listened to him talk with Judd Apatow, Julia Cameron and Paul Williams. In the Paul Williams interview, they talked about how he wrote the song Rainbow Connection. (You know, the one Kermit sings?) And the question was asked- how do you access hope and love during these really hard times we’re all going through. Basically, how do you stay sane? His answer was simply, “magical thinking.”

And so I’ve decided that magical thinking is the answer for me too. Tomorrow morning I’m going to spend some time laying out the rules. I’m making the rules because I can do that.

Guys, I just came up with the first rule.
Rule #1 – If it feels crazy, you’re on the right track.

I read this today:
The true mystery of the world is the visible, not the invisible.
Oscar Wilde
