I headed out to run some errands this morning. I came upon the mall, which is a local Covid testing site. Cars were lined up, wrapped around like a Candy Land board. The parking lot was filled. I know this image will stick with me long after this pandemic is done and over with. It shocks me each time I drive by.

Christian restocked our wood from the wood pile out by the shed. Our wood stove warms our drafty living room all winter long. It’s one of the things I look forward to during each New England winter. I’m pretty sure Christian would rather have a pellet stove. But I love a real wood stove. I want to feel like it’s 100 years ago and we don’t have a choice. I also know will be able to keep our house warm in case of an apocalypse. So every year, Christian stacks and carries wood for the stove. He loves me.

I spent some time with Gracie Lou, taking photos. She obliged, but only because she knew eventually this crazy activity would lead to extra petting time. Ms. Gracious Louise Gainer, you are the Queen of our castle. We will forever bow down.
